Free meal Programs

For over a decade fighting food insecurity has been at the forefront of the YMCA of Grays Harbor’s work. For many years the Y has used a multi-prong approach to deliver programming to ensure the needs of the kids in our community were being met. This approach enables our Y to reach kids of all ages in diverse locations.

Ages: 0 to 18

breakfast sites

The YMCA is proud to offer free breakfast to youth during the summer, ensuring that every child has access to a healthy start to their day. This program helps support families and promotes better nutrition, energy, and focus for kids while school is out. By providing this service, the YMCA continues its commitment to strengthening the community and supporting youth development.

Ages: 0 to 18

park & play

Each day during the summer mentors lead fun games, STEAM activities, athletics, and arts and crafts at strategically picked parks in Aberdeen, Cosmopolis and Elma. The Park & Play Program is unique because it reaches the youth in our community during the summer and fights summer learning loss and provides free summer meals.

Ages: 0 to 18

grab & Go lunches

The YMCA provides grab-and-go lunches throughout the summer to help ensure kids and families have access to nutritious meals. These meals are available at the Y facility as well as in Taholah, making it easier for the community to stay supported. This program helps reduce food insecurity while keeping youth fueled and ready for summer activities.

Ages: 0 to 18

impact center super snacks

Afterschool Monday-Thursday the Y Impact Center serves Supersnacks. The program helps provide healthy, nutritious snacks to youth in the community, supporting their growth and well-being. By offering balanced options, the program ensures kids have the energy they need to stay active and focused throughout the day. This initiative reflects the YMCA’s commitment to nurturing healthy habits and strengthening the community.

Ages: 0 to 18

Giving Tree

Each holiday season, the Y partners with local schools to identify families who could use a little extra support and joy. Through our Giving Tree program, community members have the opportunity to make the season brighter — one family at a time.

Beginning the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and running through the last week of school before winter break, tags are displayed at the Y representing local families and turned in for the wish list items.
