Childcare / Preschool

Childcare

Childcare licensing is a process where state and territory governments set minimum health and safety requirements that childcare programs must meet to legally operate. These requirements help support a healthy and safe environment for your child. Our staff must pass a criminal background check, have First Aid & CPR certification, food handlers training, child care basic training, along with annual continuing education training.

Summer childcare registration opens april 1st

The YMCA’s summer childcare program follows the similar academic calendar to Aberdeen and Hoquiam school districts. The typical summer schedule would begin in mid June and end in early September.

Our experienced and MERIT certified staff are dedicated to the development of each child. We provide a caring and positive environment and believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. At the Y, children learn how to be their best selves. From swimming and craft projects to enrichment activities and homework, the YMCA of Grays Harbor Enrichment Program (Childcare) offers care for preschool and school aged children that challenge their imagination and creativity. Best of all, you can be sure that while your kids are learning and growing, they will be well cared for in an enjoyable place that will strengthen your family, both while you’re at work and when you’re all together.

Healthy Meals & Snacks Our child care follows strict food standards set by OSPI and USDA to ensure healthy meals and snacks are provided to each child.

Multiple Spaces We have children located in two buildings: the YMCA facility and the Learning Center.

All of our children also use, at various times, the YMCA additional options of:

  • BusyTown
  • Gym
  • Swimming Pool

Field Trips To enhance your child’s summer experience YMCA licensed childcare participates in various field trips included but not limited to a visit to local parks and CAMP BISHOP. These field trips are included with the cost of licensed childcare.

School Year registration opens July 15th. If your child is enrolled in the summer, and you plan on having your child attend during the school year, you will need to fill out new registration paperwork. Registration is first come, first serve and spaces are limited.
